 This is one of my published works, but it gives you a glimpse of my painting style. With thick brushstrokes and a technique that builds from the center—the flower—outward, I focus the energy on the main subject, allowing the surrounding world to grow from it, in contrast to other artists who often work the other way around. The red hibiscus, one of my favorite plants and colors to paint, brings a vividness that draws the viewer in. Its striking hue captures attention yet still allows the eye to explore the world around it.
